Through treatment, people with eating disorders can learn to:

  • Control or change their eating habits
  • Eat properly and healthily
  • Build their self-esteem
  • Accept and be satisfied with their body 

What about recovery?

Recovering from an eating disorder is possible and after treatment, many people go on to live happy and healthy lives.

It is important to remember that recovery is different for everyone. Each individual recovers at their own pace and in their own way.   

While treatment at any stage of an eating disorder is beneficial and necessary, the sooner you start treatment for an eating disorder, the shorter the recovery process will be.
